Improving a meal subscription platform.
The problem
What needed attention
A meal subscription platform has to keep pricing, payments, and plan changes consistent. Redundant code was making the application harder to maintain.
My contribution
The work I delivered
I worked on the backend through Technyx Systems, including a codebase refactor, payment integrations, and meal-plan pricing.
- Removed redundant code and simplified the codebase.
- Integrated Paymob and Tabby for payments.
- Implemented calorie-based meal-plan pricing.
- Improved MySQL queries and added Sentry error tracking.
The outcome
What changed
- The refactor reduced production bugs by approximately 90%.
- The platform gained additional payment options and calorie-based pricing.
